Appraisal Skills

This one day appraisal skills training course is specifically designed for those people who are required to undertake appraisal and/or performance reviews as part of their job responsibilities.

With a highly practical and interactive style, this workshop is a “must do” for anyone who has responsibility for turning their organisation’s objectives into meaningful team and individual targets and standards of performance.

This programme will also assist delegates to develop appropriate individual action & learning plans.

At the end of this course delegates will be able to:

• Understand the purpose and benefits of appraisal to the organisation and individuals
• Recognise the links between the organisation’s goals, departmental objectives and individual performance
• Prepare for and carry out an effective appraisal interview
• Recognise and be able to apply some of the techniques of performance management
• Plan for continuous performance improvement

• Business plan & performance
• Practical exercise - the benefits of effective appraisal
• Preparation for appraisal
• Practical exercise – verbal & non-verbal impact
• Conducting the appraisal interview
• Practical exercise - setting the scene
• Practical exercise – identifying the performance issues
• The “praise sandwich” effect
• Developing individual action plans
• Milestones & evaluation

The Appraisal Skills training course is limited to a maximum of twelve delegates. Course costs cover the training workshop, a set of comprehensive course notes, lunch, refreshments and an attendance certificate.

This is a non-residential training course. This course can also be tailored to suit your needs, designed and delivered in your own organisation.
