Train the Trainer

This two day practical training course is suitable for all personnel who have responsibility for improving the job skills of others as part of their normal role whether this training is carried out on a one-to-one basis, on site in a classroom or out in the field.

Success in training others begins with understanding how and why people learn combined with an up-to-date knowledge of effective training techniques available to you.

The train the trainer course focuses on the communication and instructional techniques required for effective communication between tutor and delegates in different working environments.

At the conclusion of this course delegates will be able to:

• Define their role as a trainer and understand their responsibilities
• Understand how and why people learn
• Identify the knowledge, skills and appropriate behavioural changes required in order to set training objectives
• List the most important methods of instruction and select the most appropriate to meet their training objectives
• Prepare and conduct an effective training session
• Improve their self confidence and ‘classroom’ presence
• Assess training effectiveness

• Identification of the learning process
• Performance standards exercise
• Understanding how people learn
• Practical exercise - why people learn
• How to write a training objective - exercise
• How to evaluate a training session
• Learning needs, equal opportunities & learning styles
• Matching training methods to learning objective exercise
• Practical exercise – designing a training intervention
• Practical exercise – one-to-one coaching
• Milestones & evaluation

The Train the Trainer course is limited to a maximum of twelve delegates. Course costs cover the training workshop, a set of comprehensive course notes, lunch, refreshments and an attendance certificate.

This is a non-residential training course. This course can also be tailored to suit your needs, designed and delivered in your own organisation.
